The Petheram's lived in Holland, Michigan when they first arrived in the United States from Ontario, Canada.
The Reed Family lived in nearby Saugatuck in Allegan County, Michigan. And the Neymeiyer's were also close to Lake Michigan
in the Grand Rapid's, Michigan area.

Erie Alice Petheram |
Erie Alice Petheram, born 11 July 1874 in Holland, Ottawa County, Michigan. She was the daughter
of Samuel Petheram and Melissa Ryerse. Erie was the only one of the nine or ten children to carry on the descendancy. All
her brothers and sisters died young of a devastating illness or were stillborn.

Charity Island Light in Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron taken by unknown photographer about 1958 |
Charity Island is off the shores of Pt. Look-out, AuGres, Michigan. As
children we went the seven miles out to the island by boat, to picnic, swim, and explore.
In the evenings, when it was our parents turn to play, they headed out for a moonlight cruise to tour the island. As the years have
gone by, not much of the home that was attached to the light house is left standing. You once were able to climb up a metal
spiral staircase and enjoy the view of the lake and bay, where land meets water. The light was finally abandoned and
a new light house at Gravelly Shoals was put into use for the big freighters.

Caleb, Lurah Melissa and in center, David Roger Reed. I am guessing the picture was taken about 1909.
